There is no directory listing plantar fasciitis as an occupational disease but your job can sure play a major role in causing pf. Standing on hard cement is a big one for pf. Here are some of the jobs that I see as causing pf.

1. Teaching
2. Janitor
3. Any job with alot of walking- Mailman
4. Any job with alot of running. mailman again.
5. Any job with alot of jumping- basketball

Anyone on this board I am sure can add to this list

Dr Z..

I'd like to add to add to your occupation list..

Hotel Desk Clerk..standing at the front desk checking people
in and out of the hotel. Cement floor with thin carpet over it..

However the GREAT NEWS is our brand new Operations Manager
has ordered a brand new floor covering which has a thick foam
pad underneath..He let me pick it out and said 'This one is for
you, baby. We don't want to lose you.' I was thrilled to say
the least..

I read that desk jobs can also be a cause, because sitting, decreases calf muscle flexibility...don't know how true that is...wish i could claim worker's comp!

Security, and why isn't there an occupational code for it (PF)? Can anyone really answer this for me? Why do the insurance companies make it so hard to collect WC and SSD? My god, something's wrong here.
