Plantar fascitis

Posted by SandraG on 6/17/01 at hrmin (050918)

I would like to know what success or failures that people have had. So far I have had in 2 years mostly failures, I have tried acupuncure, coritzone, physical therapy, foot wraping, homopathic injections ( worked for a while)nothing seems to work, and celebrex that worked for a while then I started to inch. Would like to hear about some successes to lift my low spirt.

Sandra,

I like most competitive runners and triathletes have been successful in putting PF into remission (many months 100% pain free between flareups).

Usually, I get a flare-up by doing something dumb like squatting down to work on the car or pushing off the pool walls with my toes on a fast swim. So here is how I get rid of PF in two weeks or less:

1. Massasge feet with aspercreme
2. no barefoot walking - zero
3. swim more, but no wall push-offs with toes
4. Bike more, but use rigid road racing bike shoes
5. Do not run uphills
6. NO REST (that just causes tissue atrophy)

Rock.
