Standing of Tiptoes with Plantar Fascitis

Posted by Tracey on 7/21/01 at 08:46 (053901)

I am 5'3'' and have to stand on my tiptoes to reach things often. Is this stressfull on the Plantar fascia? Should standing on tiptoes be avoided. I just recently noticed how very often I do this. I coud use a step stool, is it necessary to avoid this? I am also a 4 weeks post ossatron patient recovering nicely.

Tracey, standing on tiptoes does tighten the calves and the Achilles, so, yes, it probably should be avoided. I avoided it when my PF was at its worst. A step stool is a good idea, until you are without pain.

Please get off your toes like that. You could re-injury the the plantar fascia
