Story just have to pass along!! :) hehehe

Posted by Donna M on 7/31/01 at 02:19 (054900)

I don't usually pass on sad news like this, but sometimes we
need to pause and remember what life is all about.

There was a great loss recently in the entertainment world.

Larry LaPrise, the Detroit native who wrote the song 'Hokey
Pokey' died at age 83.

It was especially difficult for his loved ones to bury this
very famous member of the family.

They'd put his left leg in and...... well, you know the rest.

Well, me and my nine year old son had to peel ourselves off the floor and dry our tears of excruciating laughter before I could reply!!!!

That's the funniest one I've heard for a very long time (and clean, too)!

Never knew who wrote the Hokey Pokey but i have a great memory of the first open house party i attended in college and we all danced the Hokey Pokey. Sounds sort of nerdish today but was a lot of fun then.
'you put your left foot in, you pull your left out and then you shake it all about, thats how you do the Hokey Pokey'!------------

You missed a line. It goes like this:

You put your left foot in
You pull your left foot out
You put your left foot in
And you shake it all about

etc etc

Everybody was shaking their left feet IN the circle. Weren't they?

yes we were all in a circle judy. probably 30 of us. perhaps this was the forerunner to Line Dancing or River Dancing? our kids would think this very corny but it was fun indeed. that is a dance we could probably still do and not hurt our feet.
