Navicular Stress Fracture

Posted by Nathan on 8/12/01 at 00:26 (056392)

I'm a recreational jogger, recently diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture. My doctor has me in a rigid soled shoe, and no running for six to eight weeks with the addition of custom orthotics.

My problem is that I've completely stopped running, but am developing increasing pain and some moderate swelling. This, with mere walking. I'm icing and taking Motrin but it doesn't seem to be helping much. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any help.

Time for a cast or even non-weight bearing crutches at this point

Thanks for the quick reply. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but the information is helpful none-the-less.
