Having surgery to shave down a bone

I am having surgery to shave down a bone that healed and a piece started to point upwards causing pain i wanted to know how long it will take for full recovery my DR said 3 weeks i am very active play softball on sundays and hockey twice during the week how long should i expect to be out till i am 100% please advise

It is where the ankle and foot meet

I know of no bone procedure in that area that is going to heal in three weeks. The area can be sore and maybe painful for two to four months, unless you are having arthroscopic surgery
