Heel Pain

Posted by Sandie C. on 9/17/01 at 20:48 (060810)

Hi Doc
I have been to podiatrist, he confirmed my suspected PF (on & off for 4 years) my pain is now severe. 1st he strapped my foot and my pain got worse. From this he decided I was unsuitable for orthotics ( can this be the case?)He gave me a heel pad, made it worse. (I do have pronation) I used a gel heel pressure reliever pain gets worse. However if I go barefoot my pain subsides. I had a cortisone shot it lasted 2 days, now it feels like I am walking on things. This is too wierd my feet have all the indications of PF but all the opposite things make it feel better? Whats going on???? I'm confused and in severe pain.
Thanks
SC

Sandie:

The things you describe are not characteristic of plantar fasciitis. It sounds like further workup, looking beyond the diagnosis of plantar fasciitis may be in order.
