Possible heel spur

Posted by Kim W on 9/29/01 at 08:00 (061846)

My condittion has slowly improved with my case of plantar fascia. It has been ten months now but I can finaly walk pain free most daysin both feet wich is a big improvement from the horrible pain I had before in both feet. I still have a slight soreness/pain on the inner side from my right heel. Could this be a heel spur? Is there any way I can tell? Do you treat it the same way you treat PF or are there any differences in treatment. All the rest, patience, rehab and prayer are what has heeled my body so far, I would love to resume a physically active lifestyle but am scared of having a relaps or woresoning the spur or something. What should I do? Any suggestions?

Dear Kim,

Yes you can have a heel spur and treatment is the same. Go see a podiatrist who can evaluate and treat the problem conservitively and get you back to full activity. If you need a podiatrist in your area you can e-mail me and I'll send you a few names. Stay Well!
