negative EMG

Posted by Dona on 10/09/01 at 16:10 (062563)

A negative EMG with a diagnosis of TTS means what? No nerve impairment at that time? Early diagnosis in the course of the syndrome? Does it mean that if not treated, eventually it would turn into a positive EMG with nerve impairment? Why the bother of an EMG if the dr says 'doesn't matter, you still have TTS'?
Thanks.

I don't know I never had one but from what I have read there have been mixed results. From my own perspective I would tend to discount it and get the definitive answer with an mri.
