Hello Judy/Post Tibal Tendonitis

Posted by john h on 10/26/01 at 12:19 (063628)

In reading the website info that Carmen posted on the ESWT board I noticed that ESWT was being used by Dr Weil to treat Post Tibal Tendonitis. Is that not what is one of your problems?

Dr Weil is well known Podiatrist in Chicago. He does a lot of treatments for the Chicago White Sox and has considerable experience in ESWT.

Have you tried any quality walking shoes? If so, which? I may have a recommendation for you. I am using a pair that is just oh so much better for my weak post tib tendon than other shoes. I know you're tired of throwing out money on orthotics and other things, but these are available through mail order and are returnable, so all you'll be risking is the postage (and a little anthrax :-)). You'd be surprised how much difference the right shoes can make.

the Saucony Motion. Here is a link to the female version (mine is black), sold at Roadrunnersports.com.

Below is a similar shoe highly recommended by Dr. Ed, the Brooks Addiction. I have that one also and it also works for me, but due to some post-surgical forefoot problems, I can no longer wear that one.

I'm not promising either will cure your problems. If you try them and they don't work, you can add me to the list of causes of money down the drain :-), but I'm nearly crippled in some shoes, and with these I can walk, so ignore me at your peril. :-) You can try them at home for a week or two, and if they don't work, just return them for a refund. Unlike the hundreds lost for orthotics, you lose only the round-trip postage. (Or perhaps double: Fit by mail may be tricky; you might have to size up 1/2 size over regular shoe size.)

This has happened before. (I blame Scott for this. :-)) Wonder if there's a maximum-length link this site will take.

Go to RoadRunnerSports.com

and click on Women's Running Store, then Women's Shoes, then Walking. Then click on Saucony or Brooks. You'll find them.

elliott, it didn't work because the message board program converts strings with an @ symbol in them into a link to an email address. I didn't forsee some nutty programmer using the @ symbol in an URL. Your blame is properly placed, and hereby ignored ;)

So you won't/can't fix it? Sob. Such a fix would be a great enhancement to this site. Might even enrich you :-)

While I'm on requests, is there any way that clicking on 'View Thread' can change all the blue post titles in the thread to the already-read green color? That way, later we can easily see when there's a new post to the thread without having to carefully eyeball all of the dates and times or having to click on every post title to change them to the green color. I know other forums that do this. Thanks.
