Questions Doctors

Posted by Anthony P on 11/04/01 at 13:53 (064103)

Hi Doctors, I will be having :
1. Inesertional Achilles tendon decompressed
2. Parcal Fasica release
3. Exploratory Ankle surgery on Nov 7th
Any advice and info about achilles surgery would be
helpfull. How is the Achilles decompressed?
Is the tendon dettached and reconnected ?

Do you mean the achilles tendon is tight and the doctor is going to length the tendon to increase the motion at the level of the ankle joint?

Hi, Dr Z Thanks for the fast reply
My doctor said he needs to decompress the tendon and remove a piece
of bone at the insertion I 've been trying to find info on the web.
Just wondering if its the same thing as Haglunds or achilles tendon
release. The doc said this surgery will be a long recovery.
