NCV - always conclusive??

Posted by EKC on 11/09/01 at 12:13 (064515)

Assume there is nerve damage (neuropathy, Tarsel Tunnel, et)
in the feet (accompanying the PF) and the NCV tests are negative.
Is the test 100% accurate? Are there other tests
that can be done to confirm nerve damage in the feet?

Your first sentence seems to contradict your second sentence. Please re-word.

There are two more tests that I am aware of (I'm not a doctor) you might ask for an EMG or a Somato Sensory Test.
These are also nerve tests.

To reword, I suspect I have some nerve problems in my
feet, in addition to PF. But the NCV tests come back
negative. My question is, is the test 100% accurate?

I had a negatiave Nerve Conduction Study for TTS in August, but with continued symptoms, my Orthopedic surgeon requested a repeat study in
November and it came back Positive.....so, if you have doubt, have the
study repeated.
