Tibial nerve question.

Posted by GaryZ on 11/09/01 at 21:03 (064558)

So far repeat EMG's normal. Saw experienced academic neurosurgeon that
felt parasthesias and fasciculations not from spine. (MRI although showing
some stenosis probably not the culprit). The symptoms wax and wane. They
do increase with cycling and sitting. Not triggered by flexion or extension of the back or legs. The neurosurgeon thought I may have a more proximal nerve impingement perhaps in the the lower thigh. Have any of you heard of Tibial nerve impingement above the ankle (not related to a tibial or other bone fracture)? Another possible cause would be a tibial neuritis. Any thoughts are as always appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

The tibial nerve starts at the sciatic nerve if I am not mistaken....take a look at some medical charts and 'chart' your pain.
