neurosensory test

Posted by Lucy on 11/20/01 at 22:05 (065033)

Hi
Need some advice if any doctor can give it to me..
Last summer, I saw a podiatrist for possible ESWT. The pod did a x-ray and something called neurosensory test on only one foot.
For various reasons I wasn't happy with this dr so I didn't go back to him.
I recently got a statement for the neurosensory test. Is $570.00 dollars a reasonable amount for this test on one foot? My insurance denied the insurance claim which means I will have to pay it... It just seems totally high to me..
Thanks
Lucy

This is a tough one. There are so many neuro- sensory tests out there. If it is QST then it can be the usual and standard fee for both feet. Why didn't your insurance pay for this testing. This is a test that is well accepted in the medical community.?

I saw my docto twice, had a cortosone injection and the test and the bill was $3289. Don't feel so bad.

I am not sure that I would use your experience as a basis for comparison. Are you sure that 2 cortisone shots and a neurosensory test came to $3289--sounds way out of the ordinary.
