Pain meds?

Posted by Nicole K. on 12/27/01 at 17:09 (067919)

I am just curious to know what you all are taking for your pain and how frequently? Me? I take Advil quite regularly, although I don't think it works for me anymore; it's sort of a placebo thing. Otherwise, if I am in really excruciating pain I take Vicodin 750s. I usually take 2 at a time because 1 does nothing for me. I probably take them about once every two weeks. Mostly because I am kind of afraid to ask my doctor to write me a prescription for them as often as I need it. If I had my choice, I'd take them daily. This pain sucks. Vicodin, though, really kind of, to me, just makes me forget my pain. It doesn't make the pain better or anything. What about everyone else?

Celebrex. It works wonderfully for my arthritis (though it doesn't have that effect for everyone). It doesn't really seem to do as much for my PF/heelspur pain, but it does help. What really helps my PF/heelspur pain is rest, rather than medicine.

Since I'm taking Celebrex, I can't take any other NSAIDS because it is not allowed. I don't take any other medication, just to stay on the safe side.

Aspirin works well for me but my PF has never been particularly painful so it could be as much due to the pain killing as the anti-inflamation aspect.
