constant heel pain

Dr. Zuckerman,
I am so thankful for your prompt response to my questions and will follow your instuctions on Vioxx.
Now to my other question. I have been wearing Nike running shoes with orthotics (custom made) for over 5 yrs. Had release of fascia and removal of heel spur on L. foot 4 yrs ago. With that foot I had constant pain (daytime, nighttime, at rest, etc) in the heel and the length of foot in the arch area as well as pain along inner aspect of talus. It still is not ok, but is so much better.
Now, I have pain in various spots on the bottom of my right heel. It is extrememly tender to the touch and I cannot wear any other shoes. Before I could wear heels for dress and this offered some relief and support for my arch. This time the heel is just too sore. I've used some cushion with mixed results and have been taped twice. I'm uncertain if this helps. With the other foot it definitely did. Have been on Celebrex and now Vioxx. Any suggestions?
I have been able to wear Wolky sandals which have a very good arch support, but sometimes have to take the pressure off by not havinfg anything touch the heel. I only do this when I'm sitting.
Thank you again. Having access to you and other heel sufferers does more good than I can express.
Sanda T
