intractable heel pain

Posted by Gary Z. on 1/03/02 at 16:40 (068570)

I have been suffering with heel/foot pain for two years and have had every form of treatment available, including fascial release surgery. No relief whatsoever, even with Vioxx and other various anti-inflammatory drugs. Have had several pairs of orthotics with no relief. Recently my doctor did ordered an MRI and states that he sees a benign bone cyst on each calcanium. He has now ordered a bone scan. What are the implications of this finding. Could they be causing the pain? what is the treatment for something like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the heel pain is similar on both sides the probability of the culprit being a bone cyst is fairly low. The pain cuased by such entities is different than that of plantar fasciitis.
