I Think I Already Know the Answer

Posted by Jack W. on 2/04/02 at 13:30 (072541)

Hi Dr.Z: My best friend and running partner has been diagnosed with Mortons Neuroma. Her POD gave her an injection which she insists was not cortizone, but it hasn't helped. Perhaps the new orthodics and future injections will help, only time will tell. The POD, who I am sure is very talented and a good doc does not do ESWT. I don't remember ever reading about ESWT for this condition but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Yes it has been used for Neuroma. There should be a paper out on this
this month. Will keep you updated. The injections are alcholic 4% mixed with local anesthetic. It can take multiple injections to help this problem.
