Achiles Plantar Spur

Posted by Lynn L on 2/19/02 at 16:54 (074330)

I was diagnosed April 11, 2000 with an Achilles Plantar Spur, noted with calcification and mild soft tissue swelling over the medial malleolus on my right foot. My Podiatrist did not recommend surgery, he said to wait until possible breakthroughs are made regarding removal. I am not able to wear a shoe with a back, only sandals with open backs. Fortunately, Ilive in South East Florida where the weather is warm. As I searched the heelspurs.com website, I could not find any information regarding my problem and wonder if there is more information on the internet?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Lynn

Please check your diagnosis. There is no such thing as a 'achilles plantar spur' and that is why you are not finding information on the query.
There are plantar calcaneal spurs and spurs within the achilles.
