new balance shoes

Posted by Jane on 2/23/02 at 08:34 (074791)

I have had pf for over a year and nearing the no other choice but surgery option....I have it in both feet....I wear orthotics all the time....helps somewhat...but here's the kicker...I'm going to orlando on easter vacation and you all know what that means...walking :( I have heard that New Balance makes a great shoe that helps ease the pain of pf....but I don't know what the number is...854 ? 856 ? Anyone know? And have they helped at all? Thanks....

Jane almost any of the 850 series are good shoes. They are cross trainers with built in roll bars. I have a pair of 853 & 854. Hope they help but do not look for a miracle unless you have been wearing some auful shoes.

The NB 1121 is first on my list of NB's to check into, because it really looks like the most promising shoe to me from what is said about it on the NB site. It's very encouraging to see Ed's suggestion to try it!

I think it is new and I hope it won't be hard to find.

They make great shoes but some models are better or worse for you depending on your foot type and orthotic correction. If you supinate an 879 is a good shoe if you pronate the others mentioned are great. The 810 is a good shoe as it is not overly posted one way or the other but has a good firm sole and a nice square toebox

Thanks, BG CPed. The information will be helpful when I try on some NB, probably next month. The 810 is number 3 on my list of NB I am interested in, but reading what you are saying here it just might move up.
