plantar fascitis and fibromitosis?

Posted by tj on 2/25/02 at 11:53 (074998)

I have been diagnosed with plantar fascitis by my doctor.
I went to have a massage last week and my massage therapist said she felt fibromitosis (fibromatosis?). I pulled these up on a search and have been sent to 'heel pain' web sites.
Are either of these related to plantar fascitits and what are they?
Thanks,
TJ

Plantar fibromatoses are samll nodules which form in the plantar fascia. They are composed primarily of scar tissue, are benign. One theory is that the nodules represent helaing area of small tears in the fascia.
