Not sure what you mean. There is a disease in children where the growth plate of the navicular bone is involved . Is what you are talking about.?

It is called Kohler's disease. This is an injury or inflamation to the open growth plate at the navicular bone. How old are you? Here is a link from my web site that discusses this condition. If you are over 18 your growth plates are closed and we are talking about something else http://www.thefootspecialist.com/children.html

yes i am over 18, i am 46and have had arch pain most of my life but just the last few months it got terribly painful and i can barely stand on my feet . there is swelling in my arch near the bone you were referring to . xrays show 2 small extra bones there . in both feet. the dr injected a shot in my arch and put a brace thing that pulls the arch up on my feet. he also put me on NSAID for 10 days and will recheck my feet then . thank you for replies

Dave (Dr. Zuckerman), maybe her doctor was referring to a Kidner procedure to correct the accessory ossicle and advance or tighten the attenuated ('stretched out') posterior tibial tendon.
