posterior tibailis tendon tear, have question?

Posted by elaine on 4/11/02 at 07:58 (079199)

I have a partial tear of the posterior tibialis tendon with associated tenosynovitis. I received my MRI results but don't see the doctor for two more weeks. What type of treatment can I expect? Will a cast be effective or is this strictly surgery?

A cast, brace and in some cases surgery to repair the posterior tibial tendon. Your doctor should see before two weeks.

Would a cortisone shot be also effective? How about physicial therapy?
