ESWT help mid arch pain?

Posted by Stewart D on 5/01/02 at 21:20 (082069)

I have had pain at the highest point in my arch (I have very high arches) for 1 1/2 years. I can only stand for 5-10 minutes before it starts tingling and hurting. Can ESWT help this sort of pain, or is it only useful for pain at the heel insertion?

Also, where did the study about ESWT results go??

Thanks,
Stewart

Hi

The use of ESWT in the USA is for insertional plantar fasciitis, however it can be used for plantar fasciitis or any other insertional tendonitis but this isn't FDA approved in the USA as of yet. I will tell you that the FDA studies for the Dornier Epos was 0.6% on a scale of 1-10 VAS . So in 92% of the cases after one year the VAS score was 0.6% . That is really good

Hi

Scott has a picture on this site. It is in his heel pain survey. It is numbered . I believe that one and six are near the insertion site. I will
have to take a look at the picture again.
