Posted by aeyster on 5/10/02 at 10:01 (083372)

My doctor wants to put me on B6 and/or B12. Has anyone else tried this? Did it help

It depends on what is being treated.

My neurologist put me on both. I can't remember dose but it did not seem to help. These vitamins are suppose to be helpful for nerves. I had read about them being used also for carpal tunnel as well as tss.

I have bi-lateral Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. I have numbness in the front of my feet, pain, muscular tightness around my ankles and knees, and swelling. I have had this for a year. I have been on anti-inflammatory meds, cortezone shots, and physical therapy. All of this is helping but a very slow process. My doctor thought I may have a b6 or b12 defciency.

A simple blood test can be done to measure your serum B12 levels---worth doing.
