Burning on the my heel

Posted by yasmin on 5/28/02 at 17:45 (085506)

I don't have severe pain, but I do have a burning sensation on my heel. I have icing it about five-10 mins everyday for about three times and this hasn't helped. It feels real bad. I've tired ibruphen gel, which does help a little, can anyone suggest anything else?

It's hard to suggest something with so little information. If I were a doctor (and I'm not), I would reply only after asking you more questions...

* Where specifically is the pain in your heel?
* Is the pain like sharp needles, or numbness, or a stone in your shoe?
* What caused this? How long ago?
* Do you have flat feet? High arches? Overweight?
* What makes it worse/better? Time of day? Activities?
* What else have you tried? Have you seen a specialist?

If you could tell us more, we might come up with some constructive recommendations. But perhaps more important, I am hinting that you would be well served to learn as much as you can about the possible causes, typical treatment methods, and take a very informed and active approach to your own recovery. Find a good doctor, work with her or him in a proactive way, and visit this message board whenever you want our ideas or a shoulder to lean on.
