Torn Fascia?

Posted by Tara B on 6/12/02 at 15:18 (087334)

Can you tear your plantar fascia? If you can, what kind of recovery does it involve? Can it heal on it's own or does it require surgery? Thanks for any information you can provide.

I did Tara(bad Pod ,too agressive stretching ,3 cortisone shots too close together) an MRI confirmed this . First I was on bed rest for 4 weeks and in a camwalker , then switched to a air pump type removable cast 5 more weeks , now in PT Take care Lisa K.

HI Tara:

Lisa is right on the Money! You can tear the fascia. Consider like you just had an endoscopic plantar fasciectomy. It will not require surgery.
