email list for ESWT

Posted by Scott R on 6/27/02 at 12:09 (088594)

I'm thinking of sending a newsletter to the 5,500 people on my email list. It needs to discuss the status of ESWT in the states and Canada. It would be best if this message board group could write what needs to be said about ESWT. I'm not really up on it. What needs to be said?

If I let ESWT companies advertise in the newsletter, how much should I charge?

100 bucks a square inch. And maybe a piece of the pie

Scott: Ask Enron or Worlcom what you should charge. Maybe even Arthur Anderson could chip in with some good advice.

Does no response mean that everyone here thinks that heel pain patients don't need to be told anything about ESWT???

What insurance companies are covering. Strategies to get covered if you are denied. Codes for insurance coverage. Actual percentage of people needing follow-up treatments and over what time period. a lising/index of educational materials/publations. what states offer. where are machines located in US (who has it on a truck and who has it stationary). Most active technicians and Doctors (who has most experience). side by side comparison of ESWT & Surgery (complication rates, success rates, relapse rates, who best served by each technique). Check list of who it is appropriate for.

Go for it Scott, It will be interesting to see what they have to say about there machines. Maybe having some competition will bring down the cost of it. then everyone can get it done.

I'm very interested in latest info, costs, and success ratios for ESWT. I'd also like to hear from patients who have experienced the procedure.

Thanks!
Linda

I think all doctors should make patients aware of ESWT as a possisble treatment for PF even if they do not offer it. Dr. Ed seems to do that. You can find about all you ever wanted to know about ESWT right here on Heelsurs.Com
