Bunion Surgery

Posted by Holly C. on 8/05/02 at 12:59 (091635)

I had bunion surgery 3 months ago and I am still experiencing pain when I walk and for the most part, I can only wear sneakers. How long should I expect to feel pain (my surgery required to have the bunion removed as well asd to break the big toe joint and realign it)

You can have swelling up to 6 months or more. Stiffness in the joint usually takes a while (months) to diminish. Sometimes it never gets better. Usually though, it will get better. Go back to your surgeon and tell him or her.
