TREATED 11/01

Posted by RACHAEL T. on 8/12/02 at 22:15 (092325)

Hi, Yes, I had ESWT on both feet way back at Thanksgiving time, 2001. And, yes, it did help me. My pain level went down immensely & I got back into 'life' again. But, I am NOT healed. I still tape from time to time & am cautious regarding my activity levels - I am a professional horse trainer so I ride alot (foot pressure on the irons of the saddle are sometimes a killer!) I also walk alot on the ranch & in a sandfilled arena, when teaching young colts to long-line & drive the cart before hitching - on uneven terrain - this too is a real killer. I have setbacks that are not near as long lasting nor as painful as before when I was much worse. Propping those feet up are my best aid I do think. Would I do ESWT again? Probably - & would I recommend it for someone else? Definitely yes. I feel like I got a fair to good response & I feel that some folks get better results - & I would too probably if I didn't do all the physical activity on the farm that I do. Yes, I rested after ESWT & limited my work - I feel like I truly couldn't have done it any other way, except thru that rest period. Presently, tho', it is good to be back in the saddle even if I am not riding as many per day as I used to ride - before P.F. onset!

Why don't you tape EVERY day ? I don't think it has any benefit unless you do it all the time. Some cured people still do it after they have healed
