DIAGNOSED WITH TARSAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

Posted by SUSAN T on 8/31/02 at 02:27 (094048)

I SUSTAINED A FALL OF 6 AND 1/2 FEET APPRX 2 YEARS AGO. FOR THE PAST YEAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT I CALL ELECTRIC SHOCKS IN MY HEEL AND RIGHT LOWER LEG. THE DOCTORS DID FIND A CULCANEOUS (I'M NOT SURE OF THE SPELLING)FRACTURE AFTER 1 AND 1/2 YEARS IN THE SAME FOOT. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS TARSAL TUNNEL THAT I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH IS A RESULT OF THIS FRACTURE?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Yes, it is likely that tarsal tunnel syndrome was caused by the fracture, particularly if the fracture went completely through the heel bone. The location of the fracture would also provide important evidence.
