Pain in big toe now

Posted by RachelWoolly on 9/26/02 at 05:17 (096248)

Could someone tell me what causes the pain in a big toe.

Its in the right foot where the original heel pain started.

I think I have TTS in left foot now as I have very bad pain, swelling and burning underneath my inside ankle bone and also I have had burning in the soles of both feet for a few months now.

Could it be TTS in both feet.

I also have pains all over my body but thats irrelevent to my question.

Hi Rachel,
I'm not a doctor and hopefully the doctors can give you some accurate info here. Until then, here's one link about big toe pain.
Although there are probably many possible causes, this link might tell you something. Hopefully I've typed it in correctly.

Carmen,

No I haven't been tested for Gout but I did see a foot pod. today and told him all of my symptoms and he has contacted my GP to request the referral to a rheumatologist to be urgent.

He seems convinced that I have Ankylosing Spondylitis.

There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel at last.

All they have to do to test that is take an xray I thought...that's how they tested me.
Please let us know how it turns out...
I hope you get your answers.

Carmen,

I did have x-rays on both feet about a couple of months ago and the results came back normal.

Does your doc know this? What other tests are for AS?
I doubt you have that if your xray is normal...pray you don't.

Carmen,

I had X-rays on both feet, left ankle and right knee.

No X-ray was done on my spine.

AS is usually detected by a rheumatologist examining your spine and also they test you to see if you have the gene HLA-B27.

It can cause pain and inflammation in elbows, wrists, knees, heels, ankles, etc. all of which I have.

I have the morning stiffness in the trunk of my body. Sometimes I find it hard to take deep breaths too.

I know its not good but on the other hand I just want to know what is wrong with me. I've been so depressed and frustrated about it.
I feel like every door has been shut in my face and I've been left out in the cold.

Atleast if this is what I have I can accept it, do exercises, take medication and get on with my life.

It would be a great relief.
