bursa sack

Posted by John M on 9/30/02 at 15:34 (096538)

I have had ankle/achilles pain for about 6 years. I have tried everything from anti-inflamitories to cortizone, to orthodics, chiropractic, acupuncture, and everything in between. On my latest visit of an orthopedic surgeon it was mentioned that the next course of action would be to perform surgery and remove the bursa sack and smooth out the heel bone as these are the causes of my pain. Would it make sense to look into extracorporeal shock wave therapy for my problem? I guess I would rather not have to remove anything as it is probably there for a reason.

There is an alternative type of theraphy called Excellence Shock Wave Therapy. They also have a website you can get information from. It is

Good Luck.
