shoe inserts

Posted by eileenc on 10/27/02 at 08:10 (098425)

Has anyone heard of the inserts which are supposed to be made of that 'memory' foam that the astronauts used? If you have seen the ads for Temporpedic foam beds, I believe they are made out of the same thing.
Can anyone help me here? {TTS sufferer of 6 years}

i think that's a great idea. i hope someone knows about this. i'd love to try it. i find that changing what is on my feet helps. when i'm in a lot of pain i put on birks or put on a different insert.

Eileen,

I know that quite a while ago someone posted that they had bought some slippers from Brookstone that were lined with that Tempura (sp?) that you're talking about and she loved them. I put a post a while back about some Modellista Clogs that have a liner made out of the same material but I don't know about an insert. I have no idea if the clogs work out for people with foot problems, I just kind of threw it out there in case someone was interested. I'll bet someone, somewhere, makes that kind of insert. It sure sounds nice!

Type 'tempur pedic' in the search function. However, not much there to go by.

That price sounds better than the slippers. I went by Brookstone yesterday and they're $45! Actually, if they were comfortable I might try them but they only come in a clog style and I need a back to my slippers. I'd be very interested in how those inserts are, though.

I found slippers with these linings from http://www.SolutionsCatalog.com which cost $24.50 + shipping.

Thanks, Eileen, now that's more my speed! I'll mark it as a favorite place and throw around some hints come Christmas.

If you have PF these slippers might not be a good idea. You really need some type of arch support and these have none. I did buy them not knowing much about my PF condition and they were very uncomfortable in the arch area. brenda
