HARD GETTING SHOES TO FIT

Posted by ANGELA D. on 10/30/02 at 16:01 (098689)

While I was trying on sneakers (running shoes w/ motion control), I noticed how my feet don't fit well w/ New Balance or Avia's. I bought a pair of New balance 854's because I felt the motion control working and it alleviated some of my heel/arch pain. However, my outer arch area is kinda snug while the rest of the shoe is wide by toes. In other brands, I wear narrow or standard shoes & sneakers.

Are motion control shoes supposed to feel a tad tight by the outer arch area??? I don't know what other sneakers to try for support. The NB store only had 3 models for motion control. Any suggestions?

also, I should add that I severly overpronate and have low arches.

Their print catalog has an excellent table which lists the characteristics of many of the good running shoes including a large number of motion control shoes.
