Wife's injury

Posted by Dan on 11/06/02 at 15:03 (099516)

My wife has been experiancing pain on the top of her foot for about 6 weeks now. She injured it climbing on the ladder into our attic - she is not sure exactly what she did as far as twisting or what. It was a little bruised for a while but now the bruising has gone away but it is still swollen some. It is on the top of her foot above the arch. I thought it might be bruised but should pain continue this long with a bruise? I have encouraged her to see a Dr. because the pain has lasted this long. Any ideas on what this could be? Is a fracture possible/ likely? What are some of the treatments that may be involved? She can walk but does experiance some pain - she thinks this is a reason to not see a Dr. Thanks for your help.
