Lateral foot pain

Posted by Krista F. on 11/10/02 at 14:03 (099721)

I am a runner and have been experiencing pain in the lateral side of my right foot. The pain seems to be coming from between the cuboid and the base of the fifth metatarsal, at least that is where it hurts when pressure is applied. The pain is very sharp and the onset was sudden. I have been to see a doctor and after two x-rays revealed nothing, have been told that I have plantar tendonitis, however, after reading up on plantar tendonitis, the symptoms I am experiencing do not match. I have been off my foot (not running) for six weeks and it still hurts. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks,
Krista

Joint damage, possible stress fracture, Nerve entrapement. Have they taped your feet with a padding in that area?
