Can I edit my messages after posting? How?

Posted by Max K on 12/04/02 at 10:54 (101764)

When you post a new message, there is supposedly the option of editing the messsage after posting. It says:

'To have replies sent to your email box and to be able to edit your messages after posting, enter your email address.'

On the face of it, those sound like two different things that are unrelated. The first one I understand (to have replies sent to your email box), but the second one I don't understand how to do it. Is anybody out there able to edit their messages after posting? If yes, please show me how. Thanks, Max

Max, I think this facility was withdrawn by Scott R some time ago. My inclusion of his name in this post should send it to his email, so you'll probably get a response from him.

I miss it too.

I could be wrong but I think you have to type ScottR without the space for Scott to see it. Scott, Julie was trying to get you to respond to a question in this thread about editing posts.

Thanks, Carole - eagle-eyed as usual. I hope Scott does reply - I've been missing the facility too.

Hmmm, I put a few key words in the box to receive an email, but I never get one. This is working for everyone else? lol

No wonder, I just went to add a word or two (I had 3 or 4 already) and they were gone!

shelia, you're not getting messages because the email address you're entering doesn't appear valid. 'scottr' wasn't properly notifying me but now it should be fixed. I'll also fix the editing feature.

I'm getting them now! Thanks. When I went back and none of my words were in the box, I just put my name. It stayed and has worked ever since.

I don't know why that happens with my email address on occasion...you aren't the first person to have gotten an odd reply. I just switched to cable and it seems when the server blanks out an invalid server message appears. I liked my phone connection better......

ScottR - it's perfect now, I even got my first email where I could edit a message! Terrific! You're brilliant! =)

now I remember, i took off that feature because i and others got tired of getting an email everytime we posted, and only very rarely did somenoe edit their message. but I've placed it back in service.

Well, let me try this. I assume that after I post this, I will get an email, and that email will contain some option or instructions for how to edit this post. So let's see...
