You guys need to mellow out a bit and have a laugh

Posted by Don Scott on 12/12/02 at 05:56 (102791)

ABC Sydney Radio held a competition to finish the sentence 'It's so dry in
Sydney.............' Some have a strictly Australian meaning, but many
others a good for a giggle:

It's so dry in Sydney that:

HIH Insurance has come out of liquidation.

Gough is no longer alone as he strolls across
the harbour. (Gough is former politician who though he was
God)

If the England cricket team wasn't touring
we'd never see ducks.

The Red Cross has launched a wet blanket appeal.

We're actually drinking the new Vanilla Coke
(not me!!)

You're only permitted to eat watermelon
between 8pm and 8am.

The Government has introduced a water pistol
buyback scheme.

Thieves are siphoning off radiators instead
of petrol tanks.

I'm encouraging the kids to wee in the pool.

Everyone is now an expert - because you can't
find anyone who is wet behind the ears.

All the bottom of the harbour tax schemes are
re-surfacing.

I saw two trees fighting over a dog.

When my daughter fainted it took three
buckets of sand to bring her around.

I've sent my indoor plants out on agistment.

All the dogs are marking their territory with chalk.

Some of the 4WDs in Double Bay have actually
got dust on them. (Double Bay is 'hi society'
type area who love 4WD but never take them
out of the city)
Bush fires have just claimed over 100,000 acres of bushland 40 houses destroyed 2 lives lost.

We still have a dry sense of humour pardon the pun

I realise ESWT is an important form of treatment. FDA is not GOD there are other organisation on this planet which have just as much knowledge is not more than the FDA (*Sorry*). Look ousdide the US of A .The Australian Study in my opinion was not correctly conducted. Look at the method of treatment and where they obtained the patients. I have been told that some of the elderly patients were not screened correctly. No Podiatrists were involved in the study.
As a Podiatrist I use an extensive Q form for the patients to fill out that covers, After the usual patient infromation - Weight, height, age, footwear types, (at least 4 categories) onset of pain (Morning noon night etc), duration of pain, treatments performed (checklist) and so on until at least 5 pages of question.
I ahve stated before that pain is an individual/personal experience no number can exist that is the same for everyone, what may tickle one person may cause great pain for another.
Oh and by the way my Fee for treatment for PF using a Dornier EPOS Ultra machine is $450.00 AUD or $150.00 AUD per treatment session.
I am situated in the Bega Valley on the east coast of Australia about 400km south of Sydney 24 hour by fast plane from New York.

To all Podiatrists with ESWT machines,
I have found it very prudent prior to treating my patient who have PF to perform the following:-
1) Full History
2) Visual and electronic gait analysis
3) Orthotic critique
4) Footwear critique - work
- recreational
- formal
I have also found it hard for some of my collegues to embrace this new technology.
We do our best in the short time we have.

It is refreshing to hear a voice of common sense.
