I'VE BEEN APPROVED FOR ESWT

Posted by Shell D on 12/17/02 at 08:37 (103383)

I'VE BEEN APPROVED FOR ESWT!!! My insurance has approved this procedure and I'm scheduled for December 30. I'm a little nervous since I had the PF surgery 1 1/2 years ago and it wasn't successful and I've tried EVERYTHING under the sun without success. Any advice would be helpful. What do I expect with this form of treatment? It is the Ossatron machine. (I'm not sure of the spelling on that.)
THANK YOU

Good luck. ESWT and pf surgery are so different. ESWT does take time for the orginal pain to resolve in some cases. I find that most patients get pain relief within one week but some take up to four months or more

Shell, go to ESWT board and you'll find some posings about post ESWT suggestions.
By the way, what insurance you have has approved for ESWT?
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.
I currently have SecureCare Insurance until the 1st of January when my insurance changes hands. So I really pushed to get it done before the 1st.

Sorry. Aetna is really way out there in left field. It is really going to take a very long time. The way to get them on board is to write to Aetna's medical director about your situation and the level of pain you are in.
