AC130 gunship video

Posted by Scott R on 12/18/02 at 19:02 (103511)

The following military video is very interesting, but has adult content since it's an american gunship tracking and destroying the infrared images of suspected terrorists or supporters.

I was commander of a C-130 Squadron in Vietnam in 1972 (King Squadron). I was also stationed at Ubon Air Base home of the AC130 Spectre gunships and have flown a mission on one. The unit I commanded was the unit that was used as Command and Control of rescue opeations when an aircrew would go down. The C-130s would coordinate the figher air cover, rescue helicopers and any other resoures used in the rescue operation. The home page for the AC-130 association is http://www.spectre-association.org
be sure and look under the tab in memory. It is very touching. I was at the Air Force Armament Musuem in October and took several pictures of the AC-130. It is still one of the most awsome weapons machine in the sky with its cannons and mini guns. when it rolls on its side it can light up the sky and can fire using infrared and radar.

Whew, guys, this is powerful stuff. It sure does make it all seem very human. I had to keep reminding myself that those people are trying to figure out ways to destroy us but for a novice like myself, it was eye-opening.

Everyone can use the system to leave messages, but you don't see the option to leave a message until after posting.

It asked permission to load a program on my PC when I was posting a message, but I hadn't read this yet so I didn't give it permission. Next time I can do that.

When I listened to your message, it didn't ask about loading anything and I heard your voice quite well.

OK, it hasn't asked me again to load anything. I just tested my microphone with Windows Sound Recorder, and I can record messages that way. However, when I listen to messages I've recorded here, I hear nothing (so I have not saved any).

I'm going to try recording and saving one, even if it sounds blank.

ok, when I pressed save nothing happened. One more try.

Probably I should have downloaded whatever it was when I was asked, the first time.
