Anyone try the "Silicone Dynamic Orthotic" us seen on the products page?

Posted by Marty on 1/17/03 at 21:47 (105756)

Anyone tried the Silicone Dynamic Orthotic that can be found on Products for sale page? I'm wondering if anyone has sent them back? Web site says you have 6 months to try them out and that's about how long it would take to get accustom to new orthodics. I just thought of something .... I guess I should do a search to see comments about them, oh well hope I'm not being a pest when this has probably been addressed.

Marty, several people (not me, but I've been impressed by the reports) have posted recently praising SDOs. Yes, do a search and you'll find them. Dr Kiper apparently spends a lot of time customising the devices to the patient, and makes adjustments when necessary. I also believe he offers a guarantee. Definitely worth looking into.

Marty
I have been working with Dr. Kiper on my SDO's since sometime in Dec.
I had EPF surgery Nov,2001 and then PF & TT surgery April 2002. I have a semi rigid pair from my Pod. These work well, but I thought I would try SDO's in hope this type would help to be able to be on my feet longer.

We are still working on getting it right for my right foot, that is the foot I had the surgery on. My right foot is still very sensitive to pressure put in the arch area. Dr. Kiper is very helpful and will even call you at home.

It wouldn't hurt to try and there is a 6 mon gurantee. My insurance is even going to pay some and Dr. Kiper checked into that for me. My insurance will only pay a portion as they consider it going out of my PPO.

Good Luck
Barbara S.

Wow that's great! So what are you doing sending it back and for thru the mail?

I wish my insurance would let me get another pair. I have to still wait another year and half and then it has to be someone that on the approved list.

I have been using them for over 5 months...can't walk with anything else. Nothing else is half as comfortable.
Dr. Kiper is awesome in his communication.
Write him directly if you want true input.

Hi Marty, pls do a search and you will read TONS of stuff.
I have worn SDOs since July 2002. I started out a pretty
chronic case. I am s-l-o-w-l-l-y getting better. I am not
at the point where I can stand too long, however I can bear the
short ones, which means I stopped online grocery ordering
and buy in the evening.

I stood 45 minutes the other day at church and almost fainted.
I can not do that every day (usually only 15 minutes at a time) but
my feet are getting better.

Taking showers is a big deal for me since I didn't used to be able to
stand long enough to do that.

Since there is a guarantee, I would try it. You never know. I was not
thinking they would work for me but I was at the end of my rope when I
got to them (long story...more than one pair of orthotics).

They are very comfortable, especially in the sandals I wear (sort of
like Birkenstocks...a brand called Finn Comfort).
