I have been diagnosed with a bunyon. Can you tell me what it is and what causes it. Is there any cure for it. It is on my left foot beside of my big toe. I know it hurts alot, and I have gone to wearing a bigger size shoe to try and help it. Thanks alot.

A bunion is a boney overgrowth on the side of the big toe joint. The bunion can be caused by improper shoes, injury, arthritis. How long have you had the pain. Surgery is a last resort if the pain can't be controlled by change in shoes, medication. Physical therapy, local steriod injections

Have had the pain for 3 years. The knot keeps getting bigger and movement in my big toe is limited now. Massage therapy seems to help the pain a little. Was prescribed daypro for this but it did not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

May need surgery if local sterid injections and or physical therapy does work to help you big toe joint pain
