Heel pain after bone spur removalPosted by William V. on 2/18/03 at 12:58 (109678)
I had a bone spur removed from my left heel in Oct 98 prior to deploying to Saudi Arabia in Jan 99. During the surgery, my achilles tendon had to be partially detached and was re-attahed using a small eye-bolt that was insterted into my heel bone. Now, anytime I walk more than a mile or so, or run at all, what I believe to be scar tissue becomes agitated and my entire heel is sore for several days. Is there any treatment for this?

May need the bolt removed. Sometimes it will back out of the bone. Not a major procedure to do. In the mean time gel padding will help protect the area
