Heel PainPosted by susand on 2/24/03 at 14:37 (110613)
Approximately 18 months ago I stepped on a nail. The nail went into the heel of my right foot. (By stating went in, I mean my husband had to pull it out because it hit my bone.) I went to the Doctor and had it checked out. Over the course of the past 3 months a growth has started on the bottom of my foot where the nail went into. The pain is severe and you can see the growth from the bottom of my foot. Any suggestions?

This is either one of three things
1.wart- will develop after a nail sticking into the foot
2. Porokerotic lesion. same thing
3. Incusion cyst. Forms from foreign body which a nail is.
Have you seen a doctor. What have you been told.?

The Doctor told me that it was a heel spur. He wanted me to try and massage it away before he wanted to do surgery on my foot. The massage seemed to aggravate the condition. It is extremely painful.
