10 days post eswt-pain starting in other footPosted by rekha s on 4/07/03 at 16:01 (115601)
I am 10 days post eswt in right foot....pain has been off and on..and I have been resting a lot..however the last two days I have noticed that the pain has been starting in my left foot which was pain free. I must be compensating somehow even thought I am trying to be very careful with my walking to make sure my gait is not affected. But this morning I am feeling increased pain in left foot, especially in outer part of my heel.
I am not sure even how to walk correctly anymore...is there someplace that I can go for gait analysis? I wonder if my podiatrist can help me.
I go for an appt with him tomorrow...but I am getting increasingly anxious. I want to resume some type of normal activity.
any suggestions out there? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Taping may be very helpful. Both feet.**

ok, I have taped both feet according to Scott's method. I will see what my podiatrist says tomorrow...
I really would be happy if the pain in my other foot stops...cuz I just spent so much $$ for the treated foot.I can't afford more shockwave therapy for non- treated foot if it acts up.....will this ever end????!!!!!

Yes, I have experienced something similar, although I started out with pain in both. One foot responded very nicely to shots, the other didn't.Decided to have ESWT done in foot that did not respond. Within one week the other foot was out of control, pain, tingling swelling - the whole show back again. Within a few weeks you will probably put equal weight on both feet. Until then, my only advice would be to rest them as much as possible until the treated foot regains its strength. Since the pain is so new to your other foot, I guess it would be considered to be in an acute stage. From what I have read, it might be easier to treat something that has just started than if it had been there for a long time.
