pain relief ?????Posted by Tom C on 4/09/03 at 19:48 (115796)
well here is the perpetual question!
what do we try for pain relief of these heel spurs that doesn't involve being druged, being on my tush all day (hate getting to my feet later),
ya know I'm looking for that magic bullet that we all seek.
any suggestions, no, cutting the feet off is not an option!
thanks for any thoughts

Successful treatments vary depending on many factors -- especially whether the PF problem is acute (recent onset) or chronic. Most people find help with rest, icing, taping, gentle stretching and orthotic inserts. I suggest reading the 'Heel pain book' on this site for more info.

Hey Tom C,
Believe it or not, cutting off his feet IS an option for Freck. Check out his website here: http://www.cutoffmyfeet.com

Hi Brian, I've tried every thing you suggest except ice.
I guess you call this case CRONIC, 2 yrs
I've had all the steroids that it is safe to have.
guess i'll just wait and see how life treats me.

After all this time, you might be a good candidate for ESWT. You will find a ton of info about it on this site.

Thanks for your suggestion Steve.
I tryed that route but Cigna Health Care would not go for it.
They denied it as unproven and suggested i try alternate treatment.
It's time to go stretch and then ice them down.
Have a great day Spring is comming.
