stretching questionPosted by V1 on 4/21/03 at 11:54 (116686)
Can someone straighten me out on this?
I've heard (or read) that faschi does NOT stretch.
So why is stretching beneficial? I've been stretching for
well over 1 year and I still see no improvement in my PF.

Alot of plantar fasciitis cases are caused by a tight heel cored or achilles gastro complex. If the achilles is tight or too short it will cause alot of strain on the plantar fascia. the achilles pulls one way and the plantar fascia pulls the otherway. Since the plantar fascia does not stretch the fibers of the fascia can become damaged where the fascia inserts into the heel bone. I am not a doctor just someone that has had pf for 6 and a half years. I found that stretching only made my symptoms worse. there are a few of us here that have found that stretching can be very harmful. The aggressive type stertching does help many people. But you need to also remember that there is a certain percentage of people that nothing seems to help them.
