MENOPAUSEPosted by Rachael T. on 4/27/03 at 00:03 (117209)
A question to all of you who are posting on this subject.....wondering what 'amount' or dose of estrogens & types that they are taking....I take the smallest (maroon colored) estrogen pill ..... if I up it or down it -- what influence would that make on PF if any? Your comments are appreciated!

Hi, Rachel! I know this isn't the social board, but I saw your name and wanted to tell you that I tried to respond to an e-mail of yours, hitting the reply button, and it was sent back to me. I tried three different times, and the same thing happened every time. Just wanted to let you know...

You take Premarin? Do you take opposing progesterone as well?
I have no idea if hormones affect PF and anything I've written has been pure speculation based on my own experience which could be totally coincidental. I just know that everything got worse when the doseage of Prempro (combination estrogen and progesterone) I was taking got to the lowest point I'd ever gotten it to.
When I go to the Rheumatologist at the end of May, he may have some ideas but as hormones aren't his specialty, I'm not sure he'll know. In a kind of hurried conversation I had with my PCP, asking him for the referral to see the specialist, I asked if the reduced hormones could worsen my osteo/rheumatoid arthritis (jury is out on which it is) and he said most definitely. He didn't elaborate and I didn't pursue the subject.
Maybe someone else has some ideas.
How are the FootMaxx orthotics working out for you so far?

My Gyne. Dr. put me on premarin, didn't order a progesterin to go along w/ it -- that is a ? that I wish to ask them now.....as I wonder if there is some correlation between PF & menopause! - as do we all, I guess! Footmax orthotics are working much better than anything I've had before. I feel though, they could use an adjustment inthe heelcup (made wider & deeper)....but they are making my life easier & I am surprised as I didn't know what would result from the 'computerized scan' of my feet--but it seems like these are more 'right' than all the previously prescribed orthotics from my pod.
