Heel SpursPosted by Jen R. on 5/05/03 at 18:20 (117850)
I am having terrible pain in both heels when I walk. I have researched this on my own and I have every symptom of heel spurs. I do not have insurance right now and cannot afford to see a specialist or to get custom orthodics made. I bought some special Dr. Scholls sneakers that are helping a little since they have a gel cushion in them to absorb shock. I also take advil and put ice on my heels. Is there anything else I can do? It has been 2 weeks since this started. How long can I try home remedies before I really need to see a dr.? Also, I'm 26...is this a strange thing to get at my age?

Early treatment is very important. First educate yourself by reading the heel pain book. If no improve you need to go to a doctor. Without a proper diagnosis your pain can become a life long misery.
